Dr.Ian Bell

Ian Bell, DDS

Pediatric Dentist

Growing up Dr. Bell knew he wanted to either run an amusement park full of dinosaurs or become a dentist. Since discovering that Jurassic Park was only a movie, the choice was easy to make. Dr. Bell went to the University of Iowa for dental school, where he learned a lot about dentistry and also learned that he no longer enjoyed cold winters that last over six months. Attracted to the beauty and culture of the northwest, Dr. Bell initially relocated to Seattle where he worked as a general dentist for two years. It was during his time in Seattle that Dr. Bell came to realize that he was much happier working with children. At the encouragement of a couple friends who were pediatric dentists, Dr. Bell applied to and was accepted into the pediatric dental residency at Oregon Health & Science University, which he graduated from in June 2019.

Dr. Bell loves the idea of making the dental office a comfortable and fun place for kids. He enjoys being able to teach patients how to take good care of their teeth from a young age. This way patients can grow up avoiding problems with cavities and missing teeth that he saw in many of his older patients in Seattle.

When not working in the office, Dr. Bell has an array of hobbies to keep him busy. He and his girlfriend Asiya love to hike and camp (one of the biggest appeals to him moving to this part of the country). He drinks an obscene amount of coffee, reads, does crosswords, golfs (poorly), and enjoys building furniture. Dr. Bell really loves music and movies, and finds himself going to lots of concerts in the Portland area. He also has a great passion for traveling and seeing new places due largely in part to his nomadic upbringing as part of a military family.
